SAE Amsterdam will be closed during the 30th of April = QUEENSDAY. This is a national holiday where we celebrate our lovely queen and nation.
On Thursday the 1st of May the school is open for practical usage. Certain lectures will take place others not, this is depending on the agreements each class has made with the lecturer. Check with your lecturer and/or classmates if you are not sure.
On Thursday May 8th 2008, Willi Wöber, our SAE IGC operational manager will be flying in to inform you about the Master of Arts in Creative Media Practice.
This program is unique as it not only offers the opportunity to study while pursuing a career, but also encourages incorporating the work environment into the student’sscientific assignments - regardless of whether the work has to do with the recording industry, film business or new media.
Whether you are an aspiring BA graduate, a BA graduate, or a diploma student thinking about furthering your education , you are strongly encouraged to attend the presentations for your questions to be answered.

FREE WORKSHOP ' Everybody wants to be a VJ' at SAE Institute Amsterdamnext friday 04.04.08
Did you ever gaze open mouthed at the stunning visuals shown in clubs these days? Did you ever forgot to dance because you were so absorbed in the images? This magic is a quickly developing type of live performance known as VJ'ing. It has nothing to do with the people you see presenting on MTV or TMF, but is all about playing and manipulating videos live in realtime. And SAE Amsterdam now gives you the opportunity to catch a glimpse of what it takes to be a visual jockey.Jilt 'Robotfunk' van Moorst, a VJ with many years of international experience, will give a workshop on performing live with his self-developed program Flowmotion.
The power of Flowmotion is its easy to use interface, combined with its incredible versatility. It allows the VJ to quickly adapt to any musical style or live event, making every performance unique and customized.
Using the blue screen facilities of SAE Amsterdam we will prepare unique VJ material. Chroma keying is a technique primarily used by Hollywood for special effects in movies like 'King Kong' and 'Sin City'. A lesser known use is creating spectacular visuals for veejaying. Also we will be showcasing the latest 3D programs and techniques to take you into another dimension, getting started in 3D design.
Ofcourse it is also possible to experience first hand what it takes to be a VJ. There will be live setups showcasing the equipment and technology used, all of it projected on the big screen.

i-dance.com and SAE present: Dance Producers contest

M-Audio, SAE and I-dance.com are proud to announce a new dance producers contest on i-dance.com. The battle starts on 3rd March 2008 and contestants are free to choose their dance music style.
Joining the contest is FREE!. All producers are asked to sign up for the Global XS Trial on www.i-dance.com, post their competing track(s) in the community and write reviews on at least 5 other tracks.
The winner receives the M-Audio ProjectMix, 2 days of studio time + engineer in the SAE studios, the I-dance Global XS Artist+ membership for 1 year and more.
